Welcome to the Aggripa institute and AA gallery.
(Our next exhibition will be on September 10th to october 8th and yet another exhibition starting on October 9th. To find out more please visit our next "exhibition page")
The Aggripa institute and the AA Gallery was founded by the artist Park Young Sook who graduated from Busan University with majors in both Maths and Art. However the powerful attraction towards art for Young Sook proved to strong to resist.
Students and art enthusiasts past and present enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in the unique surroundings that make Aggripa and the AA gallery highly successful institutes.
The Aggripa institute still adheres to its main principal, that is to:-
"Promote art in all its forms and to teach art at every level for all to enjoy"
The institute and Gallery have both recently undertaken an extensive modernisation program, and are now leading venues in Okpo and the province of Kyung Nam for art enthusiasts of all ages. Day and evening visits are welcome. Park Young Sooks paintings have proven to be very popular and are sought after by art collectors and Major Shipping companies alike.
Art classes are available for all ages. Classes include learning to draw, learn oil painting, watercolours ( you will be taught how to apply this medium to rice paper), pastels, charcoal or even Korean Brush style painting, whatever you want to learn, you will find it at Aggripa. (See art Class time tables on the Art class page)
You will also learn to paint portraits as well as landscapes.
Classes are always supplemented by visits of some of Korea's top artists who come along and pass on their skills to the willing pupil. Why not come along even for a visit and just enjoy the display in the gallery?
Many expats have visited the institute and left with the "perfect picture" either as a gift for a friend or relative or to remind them of their visit to Okpo and Korea in general.
Paintings for sale are also available on request by post to Foreign collectors or Korean exiles wherever they may be as a great and permanent reminder of their homeland.
Please see our contact page if you need further information
